How My Celebrant Journey Began
I’ve often been asked to write and deliver eulogies at family and friends’ funerals, and when close friends asked me to officiate their wedding, my journey as a celebrant began. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and with the wonderful feedback I received, I discovered a new outlet for my creativity and public speaking. It felt like a natural fit, and I feel truly honoured to be a part of such life-changing events for my clients.

Is the ceremony legally binding?
Celebrant-led ceremonies offer the freedom to create a completely unique and personal experience, as they are not legally binding. While you will need to have a simple legal ceremony at your local registry office (which can be quick and affordable with just two witnesses), this gives you the flexibility to design your celebration exactly as you envision. Unlike registry office or church weddings, which follow a set format, a celebrant-led ceremony allows you to personalize every detail and choose the perfect venue for your special day. The possibilities are endless!
Where can I have the ceremony?
The choice is yours! From a scenic beach to a mountain top, a quiet meadow, or a place that's meaningful to you – the location can be as unique as your love story. Just make sure you have the landowner's permission, and keep in mind that remote locations may require a simpler setup due to logistics.I'm more than happy to travel anywhere in the world for your ceremony (war zones aside, of course!), but if your location is more than 20 miles from Newbury, there may be an additional charge for mileage. For weddings outside the UK, I'll simply add the cost of flights and accommodation to ensure everything goes smoothly. Let’s make your dream ceremony a reality, no matter where you are!
Do we sign anything in the ceremony?
Although there’s no official registry to sign, the Signing of the Register remains a meaningful tradition and a beautiful photo opportunity for many couples. I’ll provide a special certificate for you to sign as part of your ceremony, adding a personal and memorable touch to your celebration.
